Devastation from October snowstorm

Carol, I wondered if anyone from the forum was affected. I lived in Binghamton for 9 years and it always snows in October. One year it snowed 12 inches on Halloween and made everything wet and disgusting! Oh, snow is so beautiful, but not when trees come down. I hope you are all okay and you had great insurance. If I didn't have electricity for 3 days, I'd go to a hotel. I can't even flush the toilet.

Thanks for all the sympathatic comments everyone. It can't even compare to something like Hurricane Katrina. At least it was just mostly tree damage. There were a few storm related deaths but very few.
Suzie, we lucked out regarding a hotel. We had a hotel room at Penn State for Saturday night so we took a ride down there for the game. All the hotels in the areas just outside of Buffalo that were not affected were totally booked last weekend.

Good for you. Just a note. The electric company shut off our electricity yesterday because I hadn't paid the bill since August. I was wondering why I didn't get a bill for a few months. Apparently, they were billing me through the internet. I never go on that e-mail so I didn't get any of the notices. Went without electricity for about 3 hours before they put me back on. Can't imagine what it's like to be without power for more than even that long. No heat, no water, no forum. Hope you are back to normal.
