One of my favourite birds.....often overlooked, sometimes they are coloured quite nicely. Besides, they serve as a pretty good target for inflight shooting practice. A straight flight trajectory but very fast.

Oct 16, 2006 17:31 | #2 i feel sorry for this bird, it was bred by enthuisiasts who hand fed their parents and cleaned up after them all in the name of racing, a few escaped and now thanks to a twelve month breeding cycle they are too numerous, in the uk they are classed as vermin, many pensioners regarded them as their friends when they used to be allowed to feed them, they also brought peregrine falcons into most scottish citys, long live the feral pigeon canon 550d,canon 100-400,sigma 10-20

I believe they were a great asset during the war, delivering messages. I love the colours of the pigeon in your third shot, nice one. The first two shots has good sharpness, detail and colour, I like the orange colour to the eye, well done. Canon 5D + Canon 20D + Canon EOS 300
