I have lived just down the road from the Camp Nelson National Cemetary for years but this past weekend was the first time I checked it out. I am trying to get more into doing landscapes so any comments or critique appreciated. Shot with 20d, 70-200 4.0 at iso 200 f16, 1/50. One thing I learned from this outing is that I need a wide angle. The 17-40L is on my wish list.

Nice colours from the trees, and the regular headstones make a good, but poignant pattern.

Beautiful shots and, as mentioned, a very fitting tribute. Regarding getting a wider lens for landscapes, unless you just have to have an L lens, give the Sigma 10-20mm or Canon's 10-22mm a look. You're only going to get around a 27mm equivalent with the 17-40L which may leave you wanting more.
