I used to use the neck strap all the time but found it really started to rack me off. Unless I'm walking a lot with my camera, I don't bother and just hold it by the battery grip...

I had only used a strap when I figured I'd possibly need my hands for other things (like re-arranging stuff in the photo). Yeah. Had. Saturday I put the strap on, and when I let my camera down to rest at the end of the strap.... it popped off. My camera took a three-ish foot dive onto the concrete below. Luckily I only got a couple little scratches.

Until I get a strap that'll hold my nephew in the air I'm not using one again.

Wow, sorry to hear that, but I'm glad you avoided further damage.

That is one benefit from having both straps on. The fit is so tight through the eye holes that the only worry is if the strap itself breaks.

I use a neck strap from Canon... but not the one that came with my XT (I hate it). I use the old strap that came with my EOS 100 back in 1993. I guess they hadn't realized at that time how much money they could save by giving "bad" straps

I have the POTN strap and its excellent, however I use it without the neck strap inserted 99% of the time. When I need the neck strap I tend to sling it over my shoulder and not use it around the neck.

Sure....skip right up to the top of the page and visit the POTN store....the POTN strap is about as easy on and off as it gets. The price is right and it helps the cause too....you win all around!

Your poll forgot to mention the option of both straps....which comes in handy on many occasions.

And very comfortable to wear.

basically, i have the strap on the camera, but rarely have it around my neck while actually shooting. the strap's there only for when i need a rest (5lb of camera doesn't sound like much work, but it gets bothersome after 15 min or so handheld)

Definitely neck strap for me.

I just bought a 10D, and it didn't come with the neck strap. So the first thing I did was go on ebay, and buy a Canon strap. I'm just so used to having a strap on my 20D.

I have the POTN strap and I think it is great. I am thinking about getting a hand strap as well.

Voted Strap (around neck) as I have the POTN strap but rarely have it around my neck, most of the time the short ends are connected and use it that way. The camera gets carried around in my bag.

I voted for strap around the neck. I leave it so I can actually slip my arm through as well so it doesn't bang around as much when I'm out hiking or any other time I need a camera and both hands

However, there are times I wrap the neck strap around my wrist if it's for a quick shot or two
