lens lens lens lens lens ;-)a you have most of the range covered with your set up, but the 24-70 will help with better picture taking more so than a 20D IMHO and besides the 20D has been superceeded by the 30D and so the story goes on..... the lens will last for years and years.... :-)

In our house I never know what I am getting for Christmas it is part of the fun let alone get to decide what is bought for me.

Regardless, I too would agree on the lens, it is forever (well, a long time anyway) and it is a range you could really use, in fact it is a range that I use the most. The 30D would be nice but, as mentioned it will be superceded in short time anyway.

I would recommend the lens without hesitation, whether it be the 24-70 or 24-105 you cant go wrong. Merry Christmas!

Personally, I'd check out the Sigma 24-70 2.8 EX DG. I know it's not an L, and it focuses slighty slower, but as long as you're willing to send one back in the rare case that you get a bad copy or it needs calibration, I think it's worth the $720 in savings to put toward either a new body or a 70-200 2.8L. Just my theory.

come on...you're due for a good prime! You have from 17mm to 200mm covered pretty well. How about the 35mm L?

right now, i'm not considering prime lenses since i only have 1 body and might miss the flexibility of a zoom lens but i heard good stories bout that 35mmL :)

@myself621

yep you need a good f2.8 mid-zoom first, which will be fast enough for some low light and creative work.
