Don't be fooled... if I was shooting the ugly babysitter from next door on a foggy, gravel beach the image wouldn't be that impacting. But I'll milk it while I can!

Thanks!

I just ordered my 30D with a 17-55IS and 85 1.8 today. Came online tonight and read a review that said great things about the 85 but that the author no longer used it as he's shooting his portraits with a 70-200 f/2.8 Is it still worth keeping the 85mm 1.8 (mainly for portraits) or would you put that money towards something else? (I'm also picking up the 10-22 next month)

I think the ever so slight vignetting adds to the "character" of the shot. Nicely done.

I love vignetting!

I don't understand why people tend to be so against it, I think it looks really good in quite a few scenes , especially portraits!;)

I think you're talking about the-digital-picture.com? I believe he said he uses the 70-200 f/2.8 IS more... which is understandable since it's quite a bit more versatile than an 85mm prime. However it's also like $1300 or so more! You'll love the 85 - trust me.
