Looks like more snapshots... The last one has the most interest. WB is off however.

Looks like a bunch of bank robbers to me, either that or they don't want to be recognised. Tried getting into bank recently? :-)

From your statements I got the impression that the bandanas mean something to this group of friends. Whatever it is, It's not coming across to me. Four of them (2,4,5, & 6) look like they could be inside a CD jacket for an Indie band. The girl in the first shot has awesome eyes and that made the shot pleasing for me. The other one just seems to be on accident.

As for some of the comments, Alex has 16 posts... Let's give some constructive criticisms. If all I had to say was a negative one liner I would have skipped on by. This comment wasn't directed at any one person, just the overall direction the thread seems to be going.

#1 is interesting because of her eyes. Something tells me there is a pretty face behind there that you should photograph more. From this post portraits and friends seem to be what you like to shoot so work on that more. It might be cool for your friends to photograph your inside joke with the bandanas but solinger is right when he says it doesn't come through to us.

Photograph what you like to do.

Just don't photograph when they are tagging. That is a no-no :D

2 Samuel 9:7-8, "So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.” Then he bowed himself, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?”

The camera is just a tool. I am actually hoping santa brings me a new P&S this year. You can take great shots with most of today's point and shoot cameras.

Keep shooting things you like to shoot. Take the feedback here good and bad and mesh that into what you want to see with your images. Some feedback no matter how correct may not be the look or style you were going for. I honestly thought the whit balance issue in that last shot was intentional. I have a feeling that a lot of what you want to do with photograhy involves a lot of processing. There are a few here that do a good job of that. KittyKat92 is one if you are looking to head down that road check out her work.

Just keep asking questions, you'll pick it up as long as you keep shooting.

I was not meaning to come across mean. I was being honest. I did however forget to sugar coat it.

I was in high school as when I started my passion for photography. I also started with a P&S from Kodak. I would recommend reading some about composition. The first one has BEAUTIFUL eyes. I am sorry I came across mean.

No worries! Looking forward to seeing more. Don't let having a P&S make you feel you cannot take great images. Photographers take images not equipment. Equipment are merely tools. I wish I remeber the link, but there is a National Geographic guy that uses exclusively digital P&S cameras. His stuff is amazing, but he has found how to get the most out of their strengths. I do not have the nicest equipment. My grandfather helped me buy my 300D 2 years ago. It has almost 30k shutter accuations. I buy third party lenses. So, what you see in my gear is two years in the making...

Hey man, I feel your pain, but I think youd be supprised. Im a junior too, although ive been shooting for almost half of my life, I was really hesitant to get people to model for me-thinking just what you thought. But boy was I wrong! People love to get their picture taken, and love it when someone actually knows what they are doing. Keep trying to build a body of work and a reputation with your peers as someone who knows what they are doing and can come out with cool looking stuff. Because you can. Keep it up, it isnt easy...but then again nothing worth having is.
