Do you have experience with large family portraits?

I have been asked to take family pictures for large families in our church. I am just starting out and they like my work so far. I have done one to two people protraits but one of these families have 6 kids and one has 8 kids.

I am wanting something the gives the intamate immediate family feel rather than the very large extended family feel.
