Ever since I had my husband cut my sons hair I have had lighting issues...the light keeps bouncing off of his head and blowing it out...I have tried placing my lighting in MANY areas and get the same result...

example--I am pretty sad about this because I really like the pose but the lighting is B A D!

Yeah my monitor is calibrated...maybe I need to re-calibrate it. I'll play around with it a bit...

Thanks.

Cannot offer any advice, but i too really like the shot!

Oh, what if you attempt to keep the BKG and floor from being so bright, so that his hair will stand out more on a darken BKG? -Newbie response

He still has one more move.

Great composition... looks fine on my screen too. Are you using a LCD screen? I mean, a notebook? looks a little brighter on mine but on my PC screen looks great!

Thanks guys,

I guess whats bugging me is that the top left side of his head is a little bright and I am having a hard time getting it to "blend" in PS...Maybe I am too critical. ;)

I think you may be being too hard on yourself. Looks good on my crt. Not sure what your lighting setup is but I have read that you need alot less hair light for lighter hair. That being said his hair doesn't blend into the background, and though it is nearly as light as the background the edges look well defined. It just looks like a well executed photo of a boy with light hair.
