Okay, so I'm in high school, and for the last few years our school had a contract for all their major sports to have a local pro come in and take their posed pictures for the teams. For some reason, that person couldn't/can't/wouldn't do it this year, so they've been hiring random parents willing to take pictures of the team.

One of my friends showed me her soccer pictures and the quality was awful. The team shot was grainy and blurry and the poses for her individual picture was stiff and unsuitable for soccer and she charged 15 dollars for each girl just for two 4x6s. I thought this was insane and I thought I could talk to my athletic department and show them some of my pictures and ask if I could do shots for the rest of the school sports this year.

I havn't done school sports before, but I'm very creative and very knowledgeable of each sport, so I believe I could produce some quality pictures.

I was wondering what type of pictures I should present to the athletic department? Staged sports photos and group photos? I thought that may be akward, but still fitting.

I shot for about a month before I approached the head of the school. He liked the photos I showed him and now I'm the school sports photographer ($$$). I would definitely suggest photographing sports at the school and showing those to the AD...

Yeah it blew my mind when I did the math in my head of how much I could make just this season.
