Just took this photo of my little girl. Looking for advice about how to take get pictures.

I wish I could help you. I just have a point and shoot camera. Seems she's had a drink or two in this shot...... She's very cute. ;)

Cute kid but it looks like your white balance is off (strong red tint). You subject also doesn't seem to be lit very well (on board flash I'm guessing) and your background seems too dark to give the picture any context.

Try using your exposure lock to get the right exposure on your cutie, then recompose your shot. Also try using a diffuser, or tripod with a 3.5 apputure. good luck!

I work in a studio, so babies for me are quite easy with lights and flash set up lol
But if your at home, take bubs outside - natural light is the best resource and its FREE! If you dont have a nice garden go to the park, set her up in the flowers. Get some bells and to get their attention wave the bells in front then pull them up high so you get some highlight in her eyes.
OR if your desperate to get shots at home, use a black backdrop because white is too hard without lights...set it up so you can pin the back up so it's all black, and just let her play, again use the bells to get her attention or a squeaky toy :)
