for those who are not familiar with Sey Hersh;

It was my first time shooting a public speaker and first time I had to be all super ninja-like with my camera. I'm not super happy with the results but the shots are just going to be used in an article for a local paper so they'll look like poo when they're printed on news print anyway. meh. :P Just thought I'd share.

Canon 30D, Canon EOS 350D, 580EX Speedlites, 17-40mm f/4 L USM, 50mm f/1.8, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX, 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM

Hope you don't mind, I did a little editing to show you what you can look forward to. :p

cool shots but the first looks too red to me. Just my opinion. my monitor is calibrated. The lighting was probably tough.

Why do newspapers pictures look so bad anyway? I mean, they are printers, shouldnt they understand how to make the pictures look decent at least?

It is about cost and profit... They do not need beautiful images to portray the point of the article.

KasiaFan, that is the best post in the history of all posts. thank you for that. :)

and yeah, I really work on getting the best quality images when I shoot for newspapers but I just don't get as anal about it as other shoots because well, I can't control the lighting and it's going to look horrible when printed anyway. ;P
