I checked before buying and yes, the prices did just go up. Eeks. I ordered through BH. I agree, Amazon is awesome in every way, but I wanted to ensure that buying camera equipment from there was safe. Thank you!!!!

Amazon.com has the best customer service in the world.

It used to be that way that but amazon cs has went down a step in my book.
3 months ago, I received a DOA Apple MBP from amazon.com but they refused to pay the shipping fee back to them. They kept saying that it would be reimbursed but I have called over 20 times and they kept saying it was taking a little bit longer.
I still have not receive my reimbursement shipping fee of $16.80 that they promised me.

I had those items in my cart. Amazon notifies customers when the price changes on items that are in their carts. The 30d's price dropped from $1,188.99 to $1,184.95 .

Did not know that, that is good information. I used to keep checking their site over and over in the last few days. Thanks.

Amazon itself has a great collection of photo stuff. They seem to wait until the lens, camera, or whatever proves itself --at least that's what I concluded after much study of what I'd be getting from Amazon's stocks and what would be 'Amazon Marketplace' --the sellers like Adorama that are 'Amazon' only in that you can put Marketplace items in your Amazon shopping cart. When you buy from a Marketplace seller you will pay the seller's shipping fee, sales tax if they have a store in your state, and if you return the item the seller's restocking fee --usually 15% and sometimes a lot of hassle as well.

I buy from Amazon whenever I can, because I've found them to be fast, reliable, and within a dollar or two of any other legitimate market price I can find. I've only once returned anything and they had the replacement to me by the day the return (a CD that wasn't the one I'd ordered and not one I'd have kept anyway) was sent.

I also buy from Amazon because I have the Amazon credit card and it's not only one of the most satisfactory cards I've ever had for service and ease of paying (online) the bill, but it has a good rebate and an even better one when you spend money at Amazon (I've forgotten if you get the extra per cent with Marketplace purchase). They send a $25 rebate certificate with a code to put on Amazon orders or you can get cash (silly them --when can I not spend $25 at Amazon?). That was cool when I bought a car from a dealer for the first time ever in this family, and got to put a few thousand on the credit card! An L-lens that costs as much as most of our cars can do a good bit for the rebates too :p

The only problem I have ever had with Amazon is their use of 3rd party vendors, which can really delay the shipping process. Otherwise, they are a good retailer.

I usually order from Amazon directly, I always get everything really fast and they have a 30-day price match so if the price went down, they would match it with no questions. I ordered my 5D and a lot of lenses and accessories with no issues and the rebates work fine.

B&H doesn't charge tax outside NY. Amazon ships free. Just keep checking. I buy from both and from Adorama when the price is right.

This is blasphemy, but I'd buy from Amazon before I'd buy from B&H. I've purchased the bulk of my equipment from them. With Amazon prime and A9 discounts, I can usually get a better deal with prompt, free overnight shipping.

I have bought many items from Amazon over a six year period and have never had a problem with anything. I would much prefer to order from Amazon than outfits such as "Abe's of Maine" or "47th St. Photo", etc. Amazon always indicates if it is coming from them direct or one of their "partners".

I just bought my Sigma 70-200 marco from Amazon. It actually came from the 3rd party vendor 47 St. Photo (which I new about when I purchased). I figured it was safe since it was via Amazon. I also checked them out on resellerratings.com.

I was super impressed with 47 St. Photo as the 3rd party vendor. They emailed me almost imediately. And even better, I only paid for standard shipping and it was sent 2 day air.
