Just another tool of the trade that will help allow me to capture a photo as I see it in my head.

I like your style son but I have to say if you see that kind of fuzzy stuff in your head well it's time to invest in a decent pair of spectacles rather than a new lens :p

This effect is beautiful...but the cost of these lenses are out of this world and 99% of photographers will never get to use something like this.

I realize that this will probably get some negative responses but without too much skill involved one can do this in PhotoShop and you could not tell the difference. So for all of us that will never own such a fine piece of equipment we can still get the same results.

That's a pretty snazzy way to get yourself in a ton of trouble with any kind of journalism organization, or to simply have really crappy looking pictures. I have yet to see Photoshop bokeh that's even in the same league as the real deal. So you really can't get "the same" results. Just because he has something you can't afford/won't pay for doesn't mean that you have to make up reasons that he's wasting money while you are the careful consumer.

In the entire process of seeing, perception and cognition, a decent pair of spectacles have a rather limited remedial role.;)

Who need good bloke-eh in a lens and Gusset Blur in Photoshop when you can just lose your specs? From experience life can certainly become more creative, especially in a midnight bar in backstreet Bangcock  -? -? apparently!

Or in a communal igloo somewhere in Laprador.
Either way, I think Cathopathy's keg copy appears to be good.....notwithstanding very pronounced purple fringing which however appears to be within the keg's design envelope and copy-to-copy variability.;)

Oh ... I always thought that was a creative addition PS'd in to the overall composition, rather like the radioactive glow some talented shooters impose on their in-flight Eagle/Hawk and Gull/Pigeon shots. So, it is an exclusive Canon design feature then? That will keep those rebel Sigma and Tampax lenses from the L gates for a while longer.

When talking about the KEG, I would not go as far as calling it a "design feature".....however I feel it can be classified as "design tolerance".....i.e., the users tolerate it and probably find a workaround eventually.
It's a sort of a collateral of having the f/1.2 aperture........we shall see soon what fringe "benefits" will the 50 f/1.2 offer to their users.:D
