I was wondering if you all are resizing before you up load/what resolution/size of files you are uploading. Realistically what is a good balance between quality and file size??

I guess it really depends on whether you are just displaying your photos or if you plan to sell them. I always upload the original full-sized image. Then I don't have to worry about resolution if someone orders a large print. If they order a small print, EZ Prints will downsize the image automatically for you.

Also, if you store the full-sized images on Smugmug, your images are backed up in yet another place.

Absolutely! That's why I upload full-size - apart from the fact I can;t be bothered to resize! It's another strand of my backup strategy.

Many thanks for the good comments, Al. Yes, you should make it to Beale Park if you have the chance, it's really good for kids as well as for photographers.

You've got some great shots too, love the plane shots. I really want to get more of those now I have the 100-400!

Thanks. They're a little hard to compose sometimes, but they're great for action shots. Pretty much full time AI servo on the dog for those ones...

Hi Al, yeah i just noticed that i missed your post :( i had a tough time with the slide show thingy and i know that Permgrin also had it. if you want, i can show you the codes that i used and you can modify them to fit your images. it really shouldn't be hard if all you do is cut and paste :) let me know man..

Yes, but thanks to SNIR, and his post at dgrin and help from others over there, I was able to get it going. What a pain! I still can't figure out how to remove the "lc-images home" text from my home page but everything else is done. Now I just need to buckle down and load up more photos ;).

Permagrin,

This is the CSS code you need to remove the lc-images home bit...

#userHome { display: none; }
#userName { display: none; }
.possess { display: none; }

Snir,

I would be very grateful if you could post your code for the slideshow here or on dgrin or pm me! Thanks!
