A Couple of Wetland Birds

Shot these yesterday morning while roaming around on the wetlands. Both the Egret and the Bittern, have been tough for me to get up close to. Bitterns are solitary and not all that easy to get shots of.

Great shots, I really like the American Bittern. Well done Mike.

That Bittern is a good-looking bird, maybe a little fill-flash would have improved the shot, but well done on getting so close. Were you using the 100-400 and did you have to crop the pic at all?

Excellent captures. The timing and reflection on the Egret makes this shot fantastic. Good exposure control on the Bittern makes this image crisp and detailed. Well done Mike.
