The Organ from Angel's Landing, Zion NP

This is looking down on The Organ and the Virgin river from the Angel's Landing top ridge. It was cropped from a full spherical rendered projection. This was taken about 11 in the morning.

Fabulous! I had just one day in Zion last month and was only able to stand in the canyon itself and stare open-mouthed at the towering peaks around me. I did the Emerald Pools trail but now I wish I had done one of the more challenging trails such as you've shown here. A great view!

That's a very impressive place, and the road gives an idea of just how large it is.

Great shots, thanks, Jeff. I did Hidden Canyon a month or two ago and haven't done Angels in a few years.The views from both are spectacular.

I really love the one from Angel's Landing! I guess I have to get my butt up there this Fall. Did you carry the 5D out there? When I did Hidden Canyon I just slung mine over my shoulder but Angels is a little longer hike.

Thanks Win. The pics were taken with the 20mm on the 5D. I carry 25-30 pounds of gear for the day, that inlcudes camera gear, water, snacks, and such. Angels Landing is only 70 minutes from the Grotto if your serious . I was up there 3 days before when it was cloudy, and even though I got some nice pictures then I wanted some from a sunny day.

Second that,even comon levels will make it pop.

First one I like, looks like a great view from up there.

Great scenes you've captured, Jeff. I've never done Angel's Landing (despite six visits to Zion) and now probably never will. Just too tough for these old legs. Thanks for showing me the view from there.

Stan, you made it to the Wave in Coyote Buttes. You could make it up Angel's Landing if you don't suffer from vertigo. If you decide you don't want to do it, the hike to Observation Point is a close second. The hike isn't as "entertaining", but the view is spectacular. I'm working on those pictures.

It looks a bit better Jeff, but there is a halo around the skyline. I took the photo you originally posted and just used auto-levels on half of it. What do you think about the difference?
