is this any good? it was very dark, I tried my best not to mess it up... but still, I feel I lost some details and its not properly exposed, just curiouse if it is any good... since I hate all my stuff, I cannot really decide if I like it or not :S

IMO...the photo does not work for me because it's overall underexposed and her face is even darker. On the other hand, if this is the look you were going for then it would be fine. Keep in mind that photography is an art and what one person loves another may not.

if it was shot in raw it may be fixable. if it were one of mine, I would write it off as underexposed and move on. Matbe that's why I only print about 5-10% of the photos I shoot.

If you had some lighting... this would be very nice!

Sometimes we are our own worst critiques. I agree, it is underexposed, but you have the right concept. The only other thing I can see is that it is cropped a little too tight for my taste. But that is just me.

I agree with this 100%. Like jra says, keep this in mind. I look back at some of the photos I took several years ago and see that they were horrible. But with the help of this forum and a lot of practice and expermenting I have gotten better. Keep at it.

Sandro, I really like the photo. I like the crop and the look and everything...except what the others said about the exposure & I think the WB is off. I didn't see anything on your link about no photo editing and reposting, so I changed the exposure and WB (no other edits). What do you think? (If you want me to remove this, I will.)

Looks dark and the WB seems off to me...

And it looks like its supposed to be a bridal picture of some kind. Not the kind of picture I would want for my daughters bridal picture....LOL...makes her look a little mean or naughty...but that mis just my take on it. the bigest problem I have is the darkness and WB...

The white balance is off as well, but I think your try was a good one. The edited one is much more stricking. The original seems dull. When you do a shot like that one, I find the face even more important to keep in focus and highlighted. Did you post process the original before posting it?
