I havent seen nor read the reviews, havent used it before, but this lens seems pretty intresting to use.

Tho I am not expecting much in CA performance.

Interesting, wondering how much it will cost in the UK compared with the Canon 10-22.

I found this with a few shots taken with the new Tokina 10-17mm:

I don't know how you tell the difference between the Tokina 10-17mm and 50-135mm though (except for the fisheye shots that is)

I would wager, optical performance will be identical to the Pentax 10-17mm Fisheye DA.

I think Pentax and Tokina worked to co-design a series of lenses.
10-17mm fisheye
12-24mm
16-50mm

All of these come to mind, reviews for either lens would likely indicate performs of either mount.

Most comparison reviews I have seen for ultra wide angles either include the Pentax or Tokina 12-24, but usually not both. This would indicate that most publication know the optical design is nearly the same.

My buddy Al has the Pentax version. The lens was designed by Pentax and Tokina is building their own body and lens mount and selling it for Canon/NIkon mounts, while Pentax sells it for it's own mount.

Cheapest reputable online price for the Pentax is about $500, so I suspect the Tokina's price will be just under that (considering pricing of other lenses they've made together, 100mm macro, 12-24). I'd wait to see it at B&H photovideo as they seem to get it the earliest. Here is Al's gallery for the lens and a comparison with the Sigma 10-20.

I thought the fish at 10mm wasn't that much wider than the sigma at 10mm, but Al tells me that if you look at real shots and in the viewfinder, the fish at 10mm is "ridiculously wide" so I'll have to take his word on it.
