A Swedish forum I occasionally read has plenty of threads turning into flame wars, mainly due to someone correcting another poster on some fact or spelling error. I had no clue Swedes are so anal about spelling, syntax etc!

Like all love it could only ever be transient and so I moved on before the light dimmed between us. I soon picked up a feisty tho' compact figure'd and well padded 17-40mm L, tho' am starting an affair with a Sigma 17-70mm DC this weekend. I know it's more porn star than catwalk model but getting the best from these cheap floozies can be exciting in a Rex Harrison/Julie Andrews kind of way.

I would have thought 'girl next door' would be a better analogy than porn star Dave

Correct ... on walkabout you need a bit of width behind your beloved and the 24-105mm was a bit too skinny in that regard, tho I took many fine 'street' and 'candid' stylee shots with her. Every lens is compromised in some way and on a 5D well the skinnier model would be without rival. On a cropper it's not the case.

I may keep the 17-40mm yet. The 'girl next door' (thanks Al, we'll give benefit of the doubt, but we don't know her history yet!) arrives tomorrow or Montag and as long is she's not too rough and ready I can retain both the wide bottom and some of the tall elegance of my past love. I just hope her voice isn't too buzzy and rough sounding.

Petkal.. I've never exactly wandered away from POTN.. Keep meaning to look around at other forums and then there's another thread that I spend the evening reading instead... by the way. Will you please post a full size of your avatar... I think that's the funniest shot i've seen in months..
