I checked you link and was like "WOW" I got screwed, until i saw that it wasn't the IS version. haha. I went the extra for the IS because I will probably hand hold a lot at longer ranges. Couldn't hurt to have it.
I was going to do the same thing, and get the IS, because i will be using it a lot for weddings, but, i am also getting a 30D hopefully in the next month or two, and figured i will need the extra cash...
Ill upgrade later... but on the other hand... i absolutely love this lens... i cant get over how totally awesome it is.
Anyone looking to buy this lens will be truely amazed, and happy with their purchase!
I cant wait to get to shoot some sports and live concerts with it.
