I am not sure what species of wren this is. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Shot taken in central Kansas. Thanks.

Nice capture and I can't pinpoint the type of Wren. I am used to House and Winter Wrens so I don't think its either of those. The black streaking on the breast is throwing me off...nice shot though.

Thanks for the comments.

After going through my bird books again, I am leaning toward either a Carolina Wren or a Berwick's Wren, and between the two, I think the Carolina is the best bet based on the light-colored legs. This shot was taken under windy conditions, and the bird's feathers are very ruffled. I suspect that normally you would only see the lighter tips of the breast feathers, and not the dark bases. Also, the light eyebrow might have been more defined if the feathers had been smoothed down. However, the ruffled feathers make it hard to tell.

Bewicks's generally has clean, unmarked plumage (can't be said for this guy). Carolina or Marsh a possibility. Do let us know if you get a definite ID from an expert.

I'd say it was an immature Carolina wren mainly because of it's beak & tail lenghts & location.

I'm leaning towards Carolina Wren too. Nice image BTW!
