I am slowly trying to establish a feel for my site that (optimistically!) grow into a business in slow time.

Bt I am not sure which header looks best - I have pretty much decided dark grey suits my site background and provides a good clean feel but please let em know which you like....

Al,
My preference is for the last one my only concern is that the white highlight, especially on the text "bottom left" makes it a little difficult to read - also, I would adjust the shadow and make it closer to the font as it has become lost within the image. You could try using white for the font and then just adding the drop-shadow?

Thanks David,

I can easily drop the white and sort the shadow. It's more a choice between the arial black and the palatino. Thanks for feedback. My site style is still a "work in progress"!

I like the last one as well. For some reason I don't like the blue hills and tree look in the first two.

Thanks for looking!

KEvin,

Thanks - the blue look seemed to work better when I had a black background but maybe the natural colours work better with the gray I have now.

I was looking at your site, and then started checking out your pictures, and the header on the Giza ones (Which I really liked btw) you have a nice ocean(?) scene with the waves coming in and I think blue works well on that one, it just strikes me as odd when it's a rolling hills scene in blue.

Speakig of which, have you tried that one with a more green tint? That might look really good.

Thanks for looking!

Kevin,

YEs I made the ocean one for the gallery pages as its narrower and doesn't force a scroll to see the image. The landscape one is wider for the homepage. I will try a green tint and see how that compares to the orig colour one.

Cheers, the Egypt ones were great fun to do. The ocean scene for that header was taken with my IXUS dig P&S on the Moray coast of Scotland.
