The first shot of her as a one year old (12 months, I guess) ;) The first go at shooting her in the "home studio" (the living room).

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Bad Iron, Art and Carbohydrate!

I gave the white muslin a run tonight (going for that blown out/white background look, but not necessarily high key). Failed miserabley. Going to have to recruit a stuffed animal and practice on that setup.

THis is an amazing shot... so sharp and the colors are so real... simply bounces off the page.... Great job.. and your daughter... WOW! She is simply adorable.

great shot, cute kid.

I hate the huge overbearing catchlights though.

They totally ruin the eyes, imo. I know everyone tries to get catchlights, and your lighting is great in this shot, but i wish the catchlight was a bit smaller.

Thank you very much, everyone, for looking & commenting :)

Mike, I know what you mean. That's a large octabox at work. Combine that with some pretty big eyes and voila. I could easily tone them down in post, I think, but if you step back from the image, it kind of adds something to the shot. I'll try and minimize them a bit and see how it turns out.

Thanks again!

aww wow, what a wonderful shot, great lighting . so clear and well lit and a nice pose..... :-) good picture......

my only one comment is the catchlight virtually covering the pupil, it ws the first thing that caught my eye....... maybe if it was smaller or perhaps more to the side of the eye..... but I am just being real picky here... cos the picture is so perfect ;-)a
