Thanks all, very, very much :)

Newbie, I'll give her mom credit for the genetics :)

Nice shot! Really well done with the skin tones and to get a 1-year old to pose like that is a job and a half!! Nice work!

Thank schmoelzel & SkWeEkiE - your comments are much appreciated!

schmoelzel, that pose probably lasted a fraction of second - you know how it is! That's when digital shines... take enough shots and the wee one's bound to be posed just right in some of them! :)

I'm especially impressed by the way you got a black background in the cluttered environment of a living room.

You also earn major points for getting her to look somewhere besides the camera. A little help from the spouse, perhaps?

The crop is a bit tight on the sides for my taste. I'd like to see a bit of room around her hand and elbow.

And oh, if she ever gets on your nerves, a bunch of us would be eager to take her off your hands for an afternoon. *Big Grin*

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

Thanks gkuenning and Dragonfli!

gkuenning - it was in the living, but I had a background stand with a black muslin up! :)

Yes, that would be my wife standing over my shoulder getting her attention :)

Fortunately for a shot like this - with a solid background, it should be easy to adjust the crop as you mentioned, to give more room on both sides.
