Just curious as to which L's are weather sealed? Been searching, but I would like a complete list. Just for my curious mind, that's all. Thanks.

I think all L's are weather sealed as long as you use a front filter.

To a varying degree, they all are.
Yet, none of them are claimed by Canon to be in compliance with any major recognized enclosure dust sealing/water penetration resistance standards such as NEMA, IEC, IEEE, etc.
You've got to remember, we are not dealing here with industrial nor Mil.Spec'd electronic/instrumentation assemblies. This is consumers electronics.

Thus, my suggestion is to exercise every reasonable/practical precaution in guarding your photo gear from inclement elements, anecdotal "evidence" to the contrary notwithstanding.:D

I know from personal experience that the 17-40 is actually gasketed and whatnot to be water resistant, while the 70-200 2.8 is not. It seems to me that it won't explode and die in a light rain if you don't spend to much time out there, however.

Well, I figured with all the people who own 'weather-sealed' 1 series cameras, I figured there may be true 'weather-sealed' lenses. Otherwise, what's the real point of a weather sealed body, if the lens isn't going to fit the same bill?

I know the 70-200/2.8 and 70-200/4 aren't weathersealed. My 17-40L is though.

AFAIK, the 70-200 f/2.8L IS and f/4L IS versions are weather Sealed the NON-IS versions are not.

To a varying degree, they all are.

I think none of the wide primes or short-medium telephoto primes are weather or dust sealed. For example, my 35L and 135L are not.

As for the zooms, I would say the 16-35L, 17-40L, 24-70L, 24-105L, and 70-200L (only the IS versions) are weather-sealed. Of course, only if paired with weather-sealed bodies, like the 1D bodies.

I do not know about the rest.

I have a 1D2N, 16-35mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm that are all weathersealed. Great fun when the weather/conditions turn nasty... Just keep shooting. :)

There's no such thing as "slightly weathersealed." Either the lens/body is, or it isn't weathersealed. The easiest way to tell by looking at a lens is if there's a rubber ring on the lens mount... This is just one of many such seals in a lens, but it's the most visible.

Just do not confuse water resistant with water proof.

Absolutely... A distinction you'd be wise to heed. :p
