AF has failed on my 24-105

In the middle of a shoot today, the AF failed on my 25-105. The IS still works ok and my other lenses all focus fine, so I have to assume it's the lens.

Anyone else had this problem and is it solveable?

Most annoyed, I really wanted to play with it this weekend.

You probably have already but did you check to make sure the AF switch in enabled?

Umm.. Yeah.. First thing I checked. Gave it a right good twiddle too!

Sorry, no help here. Mine is working perfectly, but have you tried cleaning the lens contacts?

Yeah. Tried that as well. Licked my fingers and ran them across the contacts. It happened I think the first time I selected F/22.

Looks like a trip to get fixed. Or I could just go hard-core and go fully manual!!

while fully manual has it's merits, if your lens is still under warranty i'd definately get it fixed, of course i'm sure you were just joking about the fully manual anyway.
