Last year i was happy to take an occasional pic of birds down my scope but needed something to take flight shots which digiscoping could not handle.

So i bought a 350D and a Sigma 170-500 and things moved on, happy enough then i found this site.

All these great cameras and lenses taking pics i dreamed of taking . I cracked and today i took possession of a shiny new 30D and a 100- 400 IS L and its chucking it down outside cant play with my new toy.

Thing is can i stop now or will these urges keep on :) my bank manager will start to send me hate mail . Look forward to posting my efforts soon.

Cannylad.

Ps 350D now my macro camera.

Uh, oh, you found POTN! I'm afraid there's no turning back now, pretty soon you'll need wide angle, walk around zooms, primes, flashes, meters, grey cards, light stands, and a new bag to hold it all...... the list goes on and on ........welcome.

Thanks for replying , i know its good equipment hope i can use it well also considered a convertor but not too sure of the benefits v the negatives.

Long term probably would like to add a landscape lens + a general purpose lens maybe 70- 200mm, but will take my time.

brian.

Hi Brian - you finally cracked then!

;)

Be patient with the new kit, mate - don't "do a Salty" - and before you know it, you'll be getting pictures that make you dance around the room when you upload them to your PC.

Hang fire with the TC until you're comfortable wth the new toys. I'm getting one myself shortly as it happens, so you can have a go with mine (bad time of year to be exploring the potential of TCs on slowish lenses though!)

If you have any questions, you know how to get in touch, and I'm sure we'll run into each other at St Mary's.

Oh Sweet Baby Jesus - we'll be camera twins!!!

;)

Sure you can. Got a car? Get near the water and take some bird shots. Weather won't stop them. ;)
