We got up early this morning and headed to the beach.

Both are excellent, but in number 2, the pose looks more natural, and less "posed".

Love the second one, The shadows even look good to me and the eyes are well lit. Did you bribe the sun into submission, or are you a kungFu master of photography. Great job as always.

Lighting in #1 is kind of flat; Strobist would suggest a light off to camera right, with a warming gel. #2 has that golden morning light to go along with the model's natural glow; I love it.
