This is my first post to the forumns. Hope you enjoy. Please be very honest w/ me. These were taken w/ my Canon 350d w/ Canon 85mm f1.8 USM. Great lens.

The model is a good friend of mine, her name is Aneeka. She's Indian, and is from Ontario Canada.

Please be honest, for I am after constructive criticism.
Thanks so much.

They are very pretty pictures to me but for some reason her skin doesn't look real and if it is real, I'm jealous (ha).

All good shots. I like the fourth because of her expression. Pretty model, by the way.

thanks so much, the first one was overprocessed i will agree. as far as the others, they're all done by masking off the non-detailed parts of the face, and applying a Noise->median filter to it slightly on its own layer, and messing with the opacity to bring back the natural skin.

if anyone has any sites or any suggestions, or their own skintone technique, i'm very open to different ideas. thanks so much, and it's much appreciated.

I think these shots are great. You have a good eye for compositon. My fav's are #4 and #5. I really like your BW conversion on #4. There is a thread on this fourm called "Mizuno's Super Airbrush PP Tutorial" that I found very helpful. Look it up on the search tab, maybe you will like it. :)

I thought the same thing, especially in the B&W shot, that one is my favorite. Besides the already mentioned skin on the first, very nice work. Indian girls can be extremely beautiful, but I can imagine their skin tones might take a bit of extra care to capture well, am I correct?

I love 2, 4 and 5. Great composition and great processing. The only issue I have with 4 is the vignetting around the model. Vignetting works great for that shot but maybe a more traditional vignette rather than actually outlining the model. Either way it's still awesome!

that's amazing. thanks so much everyone.

actually, aneeka has wonderful natural skin tone. it didn't take much work, but i overdid a few areas. once i got to the end of the pics i got better. i tried my "median" skintoning out on this shoot, and still have the raws, so i'm sure i'll redo a few i find overdone.

i'm looking at Mizuno's now. gotta get my Wacom tablet ready :D

thanks so much again. i'll be posting more as i get them.

cheers
-jed
