Oct 25, 2006 19:32 | #17 The very first shot from the 24-70... just so happens it was wide open (I usually go w/ f/3.5 or so when shooting my kiddo indoors). 100% Crop... Considering that's f/2.8... with no sharpening in CS2... well, it seems good to me at 100%. Jeremy | Gear List | EyeDigress - A Photoblog

Nov 06, 2006 14:40 | #22 Ok... so I'm loving this lens but just happened to check back on Amazon.com... and it's now selling (direct from Amazon, as I purchased it) for about $65 LESS. More than the single-rebate. I think I fall within the return guidelines. My question... should I return it and re-order it for the lower price?! I expected the price to drop compared to what I purchased it for, as Amazon's prices are always up and down... but $65? I didn't expect that at all. Jeremy | Gear List | EyeDigress - A Photoblog

Nov 07, 2006 06:50 | #23 Thanks for the suggestions! (kidding) Thank you for writing to Amazon.com. The discounts we offer for items on our web site do vary from time to time. I've checked your order, and found that we now offer a greater discount on "Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Standard Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras" than at the time you placed your order. Since this item was shipped so recently, I have requested a refund of $63.77 to your credit card. This amount reflects the difference between the price you were charged and the discounted price. The refund should be processed in the next few days and will appear as a credit on your next billing statement. All it took was an email Jeremy | Gear List | EyeDigress - A Photoblog

runninmann what the heck do I know? More info | Nov 07, 2006 08:54 | #24 whiskaz wrote in post #2228891 Thanks for the suggestions! (kidding) If you've ever questions how nice it is to shop at Amazon.com: All it took was an email ![]() That's great. I've bought 2 lenses from Amazon.com. I ordered the Tamron 28-75 just before leaving for a 2 week trip to China that I wanted to take it on, but in enough time to take advantage of the free 5-9 day shipping. Well, due to unexplained delays in shipping, the timing became dicey. The customer service person I spoke with cancelled my order and placed another order with next day shipping at no charge. I got the lens, took it on the trip and enjoyed it immensely.

I guess they actually see the value in return customers... Getting the 24-70 for $1108 (-$50 in gift certs) - $50 (or $100 maybe)... not bad! They do have great saving opportunities as well. I ordered my Sigma 30 from them on 10/31. They offered a business Visa with 6 months no interest and a $30.00 credit off first purchase, no annual fee. Their price before the credit was $376.51 (less than B&H psaug). The only problem was that it showed out of stock with an estimated delivery date of Dec 9. I decided that the wait would be worth it to get the lens for less than $350 (less than $60 per month), delivered. Again, I opted for the free shipping and tried to get my mind off of the anticipated long wait. Well, the lens showed up on my doorstep yesterday, November 6; less than a week after I ordered it. It probably helps that they ship out of Allen Park, MI; less than 50 miles from me.
