Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop. -Ansel Adams

As I recall, the spire has a bit of a curve to it, or have they corrected that. I lived in Bulford Camp for a few years, and used to go to South Wilts Grammar School for Girls (ah, good old fashioned education!), and remember seeing the spire for miles from the bus on the way into Salisbury.Ahhhh yes the times when they would whip you with a ruler if you'd been bad hehe... On the picture: Good shot. Not only is the horizon not straight, also the building seems to fall over backwards. There are a few possible solutions: www.PiCTOSO.nl

There are a few possible solutions: - don't tilt the camera - use a tilt and shift lens - fix in PP but remember to keep enough margin at the edges! - dont shoot from front but more to the side. In this case that would also mean that the cathedral would hide the scaffolding on the left. And when you're at it... Take two shots or more with the people in DIFFERENT places. Then blend in the areas that have no people in them from the alternate shots into the main shot. That is if you want to get people out of the picture. Keep shooting! Ow, and posting! I never thought of doing that! I've sometimes spent ages waiting patiently to get a shot with no people in it - and no, I'm not, nor have I ever been, a blonde!! The cathedral is over 750 years old.

weka2000 Is that a 300mm in your pocket? More info | Colours work well. I would have made a tigher crop to really focus on the main building and to cut out the reconstruction work on the left.
