I got a few shots at a local dog show last weekend and this dog
was my favorite :D

Needless to say I did'nt need to stoop down to take these pics,
world record tallest dog, Great Dane "Gibson"

Hate to burst your bubble, but this is just a typical size male Great Dane. Some owners like to exaggerate the size of their Danes - 54" tall, 250#, when they are actually 36" at the shoulder and 160#, which is what he appears to be. The tallest dog typically is an Irish Wolfhound and the biggest dog in terms of weight and bulk is usually a Mastiff. I have 2 male Danes here, a 6 year old who is 35" at the shoulder and 150#, and a 9 month old puppy who probably will finish growing at 36" or so. Right now the puppy's head is at my chest level. Nice pics, though.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Thank you all for your comments ;)

I like dogs, but do not know a lot about them and went to the show for
fun and photo ops.

Being curious I checked out Gibsons record at :

He really does have the record at 42.2" at the shoulder .

I checked the record, and it says he is 42.2 inches tall, but it doesn't say at the shoulder. They are measuring him at the top of the head. If he were 42.2 at the shoulder, he would be taller than those children in the pic, and he is not and that woman who has his leash would be 8' tall.
