Here's a pic I took this morning of a bridge fairly nearby. I'ts called cut - throat brigde because someone disposed of a head there many years ago(gruesome but apparently true!!). I decided to convert it to black and white. I hope this doesnt belong on the Black and white thread....please let me know if it does, and if so I appologise. As always all comments welcome!!:)

I love the look of the water in particular... how slow a shutter did you have to go to to ?

Here's the colour version as requested. The light was flat because it was an overcast day. The shutter speed was 2.5 seconds.

Did you do some processing to the underside of the bridge? The inner walls of the arch look a little odd. It's evident in the color version, but really stands out in the b/w.

Thats some pretty poor dodging there!. I meant to undo that in photoshop history. Will take a bit more time next time!. Im pretty new to Dodgeing/ Burning but hopefully will get better!

The main thing I notice about the effect is that it eliminates and feeling of depth under the bridge. I think that's why it really stands out in the b/w version. The farther in you go, the darker it should be.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
