This is the front of St Stephen's Cathedral in Brisbane. I must have photographed this church hundreds of times, but when a shaft of evening sunlight caught the left hand spire, I couldn't resist snapping one more shot.

It wasn't until I was looking at the shot in Photoshop later on, that I noticed the strange looking pinnacle ornament on top of the spire. I reckon it looks like some dude with headphones on. What do you think it looks like? (Strange I've never noticed this before.)

Here's a much bigger crop of him, err, it?

Paul, it looks like those pedal shaped things that look like they have eyes might actually surround the striped sphere, creating a "holder." If you were to look around the left or right, you might see the same image that appears to have two eyes. If you then see it from that perspective, then it looks to be something holding the sphere (there could be four, but from that angle, it may be five as well). The two circular indentions on each shape are just an extra detail, I believe, probably not actually intended to look like eyes.

 you're right

It reminded me of Alice the goon from Popeye, but when I Googled her, it actually looks nothing like her.....

I can see why you'd think that...I was trying to think of what cartoon character it reminded me of, too. I think that's the one I was thinking!

Looks like the face of an owl and each "ear" is another owl face all the way around.

Yeah JT, you're right. Went back and had a look and it's the same "face" from four different sides. But now that I have the image of a guy with a beany on and headphones, I can't get it out of my head. I can see the owl too:D

The 'ears' looks like shoes from the non-cropped shot. :)

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
