Onestop Digital say they have the zoom lens in stock - for £738.99 - their prices include p&p and they guarantee to refund any VAT / customs charges. thjey have a good reputation for being honest. Personally if I was in the market for one I'd wait a while for the price to settle and see what Kerso can come up with.

The UK RRP is only a couple of hundred below the cost of the 70-200 f/2.8 IS - so I reckon this lens is over priced.

Check it out HERE (external link)

I called to confirm and they do have some. This is good news as they're starting to come in.

Onestop Digital have a guarantee that they will refund any VAT/ duty charges. check out their site, bottom left of any page is a terms and conditions panel that says what they do.

Condyk recommends them - so they must be good!

I have been keeping an eye on the 50mm 1.2 on B&H's web-site. It still says it's "arriving soon" and I should get an e-mail once they do get them in-stock.

Looking at all those red "L"s in your sig is making my head dizzy... you are indeed a "Le Lavish Lordly Learder of a Large L Lens Lot"! :D

Great shots are like great parking spaces... if you're not quick, it's gone!

has anyone actually had any VAT refunded by them- anyone (Condyk?)

Im a bit wary about the VAT refunding process, because otherwise (with VAT) they are almost as expensive as anyone else

I mean I know WE.com will drop their prices quickly as I doubt many will sell at that price (£990) except for one or two eager beavers, so it will amount to the same as onestop with VAT soon , so I need some evidence that Onestop have already fulfilled their VAT promised refunds

I've read several posts from UK members who have had VAT refunds with no problems whatsoever. also their payments are thru paypal so there is some level of buyer protection. their reputation is pretty clean as far as I know.

Personally though I prefer to buy local - it makes life a lot easier in the event of needing to return anything if nothing else.

So I wouldn't buy from them myself, and to be honest the fact that they list the lens doesn't mean they actually have it ready to ship....

I think Pell posted some shots he took with the 50L at a recent photography show in Toronto recently. Looks like it's a good one but I can only afford 1 outrageously expensive lens in my bag and the 85L will have to suffice!:)
