Hi,

Im not sure to put this here or in Urban life but most things there dont have people.. In any case , i decided to have a go at putting my home town in pictures. I went out to see what i could find in one of the busiest parts of Madrid.

Great shots!
Dumb question, but in shots like the last one, do you ask the subjects permission to shoot? or do you just fire away?

Matt

I spoke with him afterwards and he was cool . But as a rule i have to admit i dont ask " first " as they usually end up looking awkward. This was at 105mm on full frame ( so i was close ) , he did spend a bit of time posing for me aswell , but i didnt like those. With the shoe people , i told them that they were for me only , they seemed flattered and perhaps dissapointed that i wasnt with a paper..

I like the second one. Lots of stuff going on; you tell a story there.

If it were me, I wouldn't have asked. But maybe the rules of etiquette are different in Madrid than in the U.S. I got yelled at once in Germany that way.

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

MADRID! I can't wait til I get there for the Xmas holiday to visit my father =)
I like the 1st and 3rd ones, though I would find a better crop, specially for the 1st and 2nd one, otherwise the eye goes all over the picture instead of where you want it to focus.

The third shot is great, especially for street photography. There are some natural framing elements that appear at the top and both sides which help define your primary subject. Also, there are interesting stories going on in other areas of the shot. Well played.
