Sigma 300mm f/2.8 APO DG prime

Thought I'd share the results of this great lens after about 2 weeks in use- It's about $1400. under canon's f/2.8 but pictures are pretty good. I do miss IS on this lens but very happy otherwise
Both shots are sharpened & curves applied- taken with canon 5D. CC welcomed

Congrats, I like the 2nd shot. How is IQ with 2x TC on this lens?

All 3 of the shots above were taken with canon 1.4x TC- so the 1.4x does very well with this lens. I recently got a kenko 2x but I have not tried it on the 300 yet. I hope it is as good as the 1.4

Thanks for sharing these. This lens doesn't get a lot of praise around here and it's nice to see that it's working so well for you, especially with the 1.4x. Everyone says to skip this lens and go for the 120-300, but it looks like this lens can definitely be useful.
