Are they an authrorized canon dealer? Do you get rebates with them?

Yes they are a authorized Canon dealer, a real brick and mortar store with a eBay presence.

Cool. I'll keep an eye out for them.

A Toronto option on Avenue Rd. just south of the 401 offers the camera at similar pricing but you pay 8% PST (if you have a vendors permit for your photo business you may not have to pay PST for the camera but I don't know for sure) around $250 but save $50 in shipping.

Think of it this way, i bet Canada gets more rebates than Australia does! :(

Yes, but you have better wild life and weather all together, so I think you guys win at the end of the day.

Maybe I should start buying from authorized stores off eBay, who knows.

Say I have relatives in the US whose address i'd use for the rebate, but the invoice points to my canadian address. Chances are Canon USA won't honor that rebate correct? I've bought stuff from the states when I visited my relatives and used their address to get US only rebates before (they mail me the cheque) w/o problems but those reciepts are the ones you get from retail stores that don't include the customer's address etc. Is there any way a (poor) canadian like me can get US rebates if I can use an US address w/o having to ship the camer to the american address?

Royally screwded by giving us Double rebates?

I'd say it's step in the right direction and we should show them that we like large rebates.

Not really because Canadian vendors such as Henry's give provate rebates when there are not other rebates...to try to compete with BH but when they see this..they mil there customers by making them pay full price.

It's like we aren't saving anything actually.

That's rigth they won't...

The hole double rebate thing is not really worth it as a whole to most Canadian's unless yoru buying a 5d.

:( canon usa sure covered all the loopholes to block us canucks :(
I'd be jumping for joy if Dell USA shipped to canada as well XD that deal posted last night made me sad that i couldn't take advantage of it.

best deal I've seen so far for 30d is when futureshop was offering the 30d w/ kit + free access pack (grip, battery, bag valued @ 330) for 1580 CAD after single rebate... that coupled with double rebates if I bought a speedlite or a lens would make the camera and subtracting the slightly overpriced access pak would make the camera price = 1130 CAD... I'm so kicking myself for not getting this as somehow I was convinced by a friend that the accessory pack was worthless since I could get a sterlingtek battery for cheap as well as buy the grip separately. I didn't know that the battery grip itself was 289.95 so that's not too far off of 330 :S argh... I'm having my fingers crossed that they will repost this steal of a deal back up for boxing day or holiday sales

. And you'd be without the Canadian warranty on the 5D.

not true - Canon has an international warranty........lens bought in the US can be sent to Canon Canada for warranty work

hehe - can you say brain fart? Meant to say Canon equipment, ended up saying lens.
Need some sleep...............

So revised post - any Canon equipment comes with a Canon International Warranty, therefore us Canucks can get US bought equipment serviced in Canada, under warranty.

I hope that's the case. Last time I contacted Canon Canada I was told that a Camera Body must be purchased from an Authorized Canadian Dealer for the warranty to be honoured in Canada.

Maybe they've since changed their policy.
