Very pretty model. The comp looks great. If the word "FUN" wasn't cut off, it would have added a little character to the shot. I like her freckles, it adds to her cuteness. I bet the color version looks even better.

Very nice shot. The light is very nice and also even. Great exprssion and angle of the head adds to the feel. The eyes are also very sharp. I also wonder what the color version is like.

Nice shot although the eyes seem too dark for me, The eyes hold the personality sometimes so maybe bring them out a little.
I have run some dodge/burn over the whole image with some selective sharpening/softening and changed the contrast some with levels.
Hopefully you feel it's an improvement.
Very pretty young lady you must be proud.

I definitely like the color version better. As a dad, this shot captures everything great about daughters: fun yet loving.

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

The WB seems a bit warm, correct the levels.

My thoughts: I have heard from dozens of speakers, at professional photography seminars, that kids need "room to grow". In other words, your image was created way too close. Kids need surroundings for size comparison.

The color balance could have been better but maybe this is right out of the camera and you have not worked the Raw files yet. I'll hope to see more from you with much more room around kids images.

this is interesting..so do you feel that tight crops for children shots are a general no-no or just this composition in particular.. and is it necessary to have size comparisons with children as part of the composition.. It seems a bit different to me.. perhaps because there is soo much macro work that wants to bring the smallness of subjects to be the center focus by tight crops?... just curious..
