Trouble with 256 MG Compact Flash

Anyone have an explination or experience with this?

8, 16, and 32 megabyte flashcards slip in and out of our A70 with no problem. But our two 256 cards (Kingston and SanDisk) are difficult (to say the least) to get out of the slot. I have to use a pair of tweezers to wedge them out. They sure look to be the same size as the other cards.

ame problem with my A80...

i find it easier when i hold the opposite camera end against myself, and push/hold on the "eject" button while i am trying to remove the tight-fitting card... holding that button in helped much more than trying to just get it out otherwise...

I have a 256 Mb SanDisck CF for my A70, but no problems whatsoever. Whats the problem? Don't the ejector work?

Exactly--The card slides out part of the way, but then gets stuck and doesn't push that last little bit to EJECT. I have to gently pry it to get it out. I could probably use my fingers, but the position of the door makes that pretty awkward.

If I understand correctly, you want the card to come flying out of the slot once you press the ejector button?
On the Powershot G3, the card (every card) comes out about 2 cm when I press the button, the rest I have to pull out with my fingers
On my Ixus 300, some cards could be made flying out of the slot when having the cam so that the slot was horizontal and pressing the button, but I always found it a nuisance because sometimes the card fell on the floor, and when you're outside, it's not fun...

i don't think you do understand correctly... it's not that we want the card to fly out... it's that we want to be able to remove the card with ease. it's friggin' hard to get that card out of the camera. REALLY! the ejector gets it so far, and then it's up to you and some above average finger strength to remove it the rest of the way

good point about the door, too. it's awkward to get the card out when it's so difficult and the door is not your friend here...

Just a thought, but you have removed any stickers from the card, haven't you? If so, is the card noticeable rougher than the others? Another possibility that springs to mind is that the pins in the camera are holding on rather too well. Is it harder to insert than your other cards?
I have an A20/70 & 80 and cards up to 512 and have never noticed any difference or difficulty in inserting/removing the cards.

If it's sticking, perhaps the CF-Card has a bit too much plastic on one place, try to put it on something very flat (like a mirror) and see if it's plane on every side or a bit distorted.
Perhaps there's a bit of plastic on one side from the molding that's left over, then take some very sharp knife and try removing it (make the CF-card thinner, or less large)
