Taken in 2005 with my Canon IXUS 50. Views from the top were amazing!

The foreground chain shows nice sharpness of that AA filter. I like the similar textures of the rock and the sky; blue and orange are complimentary.
Shame of it is that I have never made that trip to Ayer's Rock and The Olgas.

Yes that is a great shot I assume the chain is to stop the visitors from falling down

Boy that brings back memories. That "walk" read climb is much, much steeper than it looks. We went there in '98 and it's a real scramble up that chain and beyond. A long way beyond the chain !!

Thanks for the comments! Yes the chain is to stop people falling - it is actually much steeper than the photo makes out, with severe drops either side.

Carzee - make the trip - it's defineately worth it!

Paul, we posted at the same time about steepness! But once you're at the top, it's amazing :)

Most things in life are the same. Hard work getting to X but once your there it was worth the climb.

I really like it - sharp, well saturated colours and the chain and people running up the face add a nice depth to the image. Great shot :)

The contrast, the shape, the beauty! I love it. The way you've been able to capture the texture of the rock and the sky!

Good use of areas and contrasting colors. Thopse clouds are amazing. I'd like to see more detail in the rock. There is texture in the rock surface but it doesn't really come out in the FG area... The chain makes a good lead-in.

It looks like another planet, where is it? Any pictures that show what you see when you get to the top?

Kinda looks similar to the climb up Half Dome in Yosemite NP _ nice job and great sky.
