This is two shots combined, one exposed for the foreground, the other for the sky. Also made some slight curves adjustments in PS, as well as the border and watermark of course. ;)

Not much in the way of foreground interest i know, but it's a pretty desolate place hehe! :p

God you're a tough crowd sometimes... :D

Sorry couldn't resist a bump, since so few had even looked at it. :p

Well I'm no pro and I'm still learning, but since no one else has commented on it I will.
Nothing in the shot jumps out at me and makes me say wow.

Allthough you have used two separate exposures for sky and land, the sky is still very bright. The composition is nice because the diagonals and the downhill invite the viewer into the picture. Good job catching those sunrays.

Scott,

Cropping of a good portion of the bottom half makes to look for a fairly nice panoramic. Play around with the crop and see what you think.

I know what you mean, i was struggling trying to find something to use for a focal point. Not much out there hehe! Cheers for commenting. ;)

Thanks for the comments Sander. ;)

I seem to have trouble getting the skies right!?! I can see there are some blown highlights, but i always seem to stop there for some reason!?! If i get some time tomorrow, i'll have another crack at it and see if i like it with a darker sky. ;)

Cheers Mike. ;)

I can see where you're going with the crop idea, but i feel it would really miss the contrast from the heather in the foreground and look kinda flat (the land that is). I may give it a go, and try increasing the exposure on what's left of the foreground though.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

I actually like the desolate look of it with nothing in the foreground. The sky would probably look just a little better if it were not so bright on the left hand side of the photo.

I brought a bit more detail back into the highlight in the sky, but it may need a slight bit more, as i lost some when i re-sized for web!?! Also made a slight curves adjustment.

What do you think?
