well good morning all.. I can tell you honestly for no particular reason that I absolutely did not sleep tonight.. I know this by the condition the quilts are in on my bed, the fact that my alarm is set to go off in thirteen minutes and i'm fed up enough to see what this thread is up to... okay, so it might have been the two cherry pepsis at ten oclock last night or the semi-fight with my sister at ten-thirty.. or the very real possibility that my breathing has once again gone to ****.. oh well.. now debating about whether or not to go to work or go straight to the hospital.. only problem with the ladder is that it means i'll have to take the broom to my car and unbury it again.. and I don't have the energy.. where if I go to work i'll be drawing my hourly rate, I won't piss off my boss and won't have to do much for nine hours... decisions.. decisions....

by the way, impressed with the butterfly poo shot, laughing a little bit at folks actually going to sweden to buy a car, but then... why shouldn't you?.. starting to plot how the heck i'm gonna make it home for thanksgiving... my aunt is seriously annoyed at two of my cousin's ditching out on Christmas eve for in-law situations and has put her foot down about Thanksgiving... and need to go balance my checkbook and figure out how much I can spend at the freakin' hospital this week.....

oh, and nouna i'm gonna go look up you talking in Swedish..

Anyone that didn't experience the horrors of shooting with a 2 day shutter lag has no idea about any of this.;) I am glad those days are long gone.

You were there?

*sigh*

I just locked myself out of one of my computers because I absolutely CANNOT remember the f$#%ing password....I HATE passwords, I really do....

Does anybody else have a problem where they just can't remember stuff? I used to be really good at all of this, never forgetting any of them. And I feel really bad that I can't do everything I used to be able to.

I've had my bank card eaten y the machine a number of times because I kept mixing up the pin code between my English account and my Swedish...

And I've started our house alarm a few times as well...(last time mom told me "How can you forget the code, it's my and dad's wedding date!" Like, duh! I'm not the one being married to either of them, why should I remember your anniversary? ;)

22 every day? I only have 2 real posts each day. The other 20 are in G&N saying "she's hot".

LOL.

Good morning to all, so much happening while I slept. I have 3 hours to play with my 5D, but wanted to say, a good new friend just lost her nephew, 18 months old, to a heart defect. It was very sad, it was sudden, he was awaiting his next surgery. I asked if she had pictures of the little guy. She didn't know. This is why I think we need to take our hobbies more seriously sometimes. We never know when those precious few photographs will become even more meaningful.

Have a great day, everyone! Enjoy your health, enjoy your work, enjoy life. It's all a gift.

Suzie,
So sorry to hear about your friend. That must be really tough. And yes, time is precious.

Worse when you need access to that system RIGHT NOW because you are expecting time sensitive information....

I really hate myself at times like these. I ALWAYS used to be able to get it right... it does suck to be growing old, at 18 I could do anything and get away with it.

Yes, yes I do.

I've even gone so far as to do a forbidden thing as a system administrator.....

I've put my password on a sticky!

The voice mail system requires a password change every 60 days, and it remembers the last 5 passwords so you can't use them again.

If someone wants my voicemail that bad, they can very well go in and get it!

Thanks for looking!

Good gawd, one day I am going to do that.....really. Luckily it is only voicemail. As a fellow sysadmin/net-admin, I always expect myself to know better too :(

The problem is that you can't do this for the higher security systems, and those are precisely the ones with long and difficult to remember passwords. :(

I deal with voice mail another way......I don't have it...

I'm terrible my passwords are very, very unsecure.. I just don't want to be bothered by forgetting, which I still do   .. the sad part is that even when I change them my sister can always guess to get into any of my email accounts..

Yeah, that's the only assword I do that with.

On pasword change day it takes me about a good week to not have my fingers autopilot the old password in at the login prompt.

Thanks.....I feel a little bit better that I am not the only one who gets shafted occasionally. Too many damn numbers and words to remember. No wonder credit cards use signatures.

I have thought about this from time to time. Few years ago I took a picture of my grandparents with a P&S. That pic has suddenly gone up in value a *LOT* since there will never be another opportunity now.

PS: Saw your Blogger problems, sorry to hear about them. I got dragged through the gull crap when my hosting provider decided to 'migrate'. Whenever I hear that word I know the coming days are going to be hell.. I have only been two places where they have pulled off a blood-less migration. If they "invite" you, RUN. RUN LIKE MAD.

The voodoo chicken sacrifices to achieve that are quite considerable...

People complain about their cameras giving problems. Believe me problems or not the cameras are the most reliable pieces of electronics I own. The computers on the other hand, we trust so much to them, yet the damn things are so fragile. Year after year, Canon improves stuff, and solves the problems (reading the NC2000 history thread makes me grateful how far and how fast we've come). In the same time frame, 1996 to present, the damn computers didn't address the fundamental issues. Worms, viruses, failures, crashes, all still here. Nothing has changed other than "faster and faster" - I don't want faster, I want more reliable.

how terrible.. there is nothing worse than losing a child.. but you're right photos are a blessing.. My uncle lost his son at twenty months and because of a divorce last year now only has two photos of him... makes my heart hurt... I think about that time for us and the grief is still soo new. We look at the other children in our family and try to imagine Marky at that age... we think he'd be right where ainslee is... he'd be starting pre-school.. he'd be singing the alphabet song. we always go to the cemetary and send off balloons on his birthday.. last year all the kids were big enough to do it. they're soo used to it it's like his own birthday party they jump up and sing song 'happy birthday marky happy birthday'.. and we all stand around and smile and hope they can't see that it's not a celebration for us... I hope that your friend and her family has enough love and support to get through the first days and months... my heart goes out to them...
