I just got one......love it. (I still love my truck, too, however.)

I've only been in a Lexus once. My internship at Epicurean Magazine in London. The boss was test driving it & brought me along. We also delivered mags around London. Of course he didn't warn me, so I looked like crap (t-shirt & baseball cap) walking into Louis Vuitton, Gucci etc. I felt soo underdressed in all those stores & fancy galleries. But cruising around London in the Lexus was fun. :)

Never been in any extra luxurious cars. The closest I got to that were some limos, that Lexus, some nice BMW's & drooling over Pete Townsend's blue Ferrari every time I passed it.

Personally I found it really bad. I was so happy I didn't pay to see it in the theatre. The lines made me cringe really bad. But Paul Walker (?) was hot.

 .. I didn't pay to see it either but sure thought it was fun until that never ending car chase with Nicholas Cage... mostly I just liked them breaking into cars and watching how they did it... and ofcourse the cars themselves were fun...

Gone in Sixty Seconds was a very good movie. TF&TF was.."eh". The second one, while still not a great movie, was a lot better, imo. If anything, it was a worthwhile way to beat the summer heat for a couple hours.

Ah but since Sari started the whole thing (even though she used the wrong movie) she's entitled!

I just put down my name in Wikipedia.

"Nouna is a fairly developed town that boasts electricity, running water, land-line telephones, and cellular phones. It also has a high school, bank, post office, mayor's office, and several hotels.

According to the legend, the town of Nouna was founded by an elder of the Dafin tribe, who having spotted a water source in the wilderness, exclaimed "N'nouna diara!" (I am happy!), and that is how the place came to be called "Nouna"."

Tokyo Drift was pretty cool. Acting kinda sucked, but that is not why I watched it. :p Drifting is amazing to me....

Goodbye EF 50mm f/1.8... you have served well but you need to go to a new 5D owner. At least I know you will not come to a bad end in the bad, bad world....

I just talked someone into a 5D system, and seeing that he did some uber damage to the wallet with a 5D and 24-105 all at one go, he's going easy on the prime lens and it so happens my 50 is up on the chopping block to recycle funds.

If I ever need the 50 that much, I can always buy it again. I might end up doing a Permagrin ;)

  I'm feeling horribly guilty about that 50 I want...at that price...oi....

Lightstream wrote in post #2260362 (external link)
the 5D is so "me", along with the 24-105. 10 years ago that would have been the EOS 5/A2 with 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 USM.

Me too....no wonder we understand each other :)

I was happy with my little Kodak DC 200 and monster 4mb CF card. Did a good job of embarrassing my friends with their Sony Mavicas that would give an error about every other shot.

I used to have people saying they'd pay for a print from my A85 (it made it's competitors look so bad)....now I go back and look at the resolution from those shots...and the chroma noise...and I just can't believe how far things have come in a few years!

well good morning all.. I can tell you honestly for no particular reason that I absolutely did not sleep tonight.. .. or the very real possibility that my breathing has once again gone to ****.. oh well.. now debating about whether or not to go to work or go straight to the hospital..

by the way, impressed with the butterfly poo shot, laughing a little bit at folks actually going to sweden to buy a car, but then... why shouldn't you?..

oh, and nouna i'm gonna go look up you talking in Swedish..

sari

Morning Sari...is your breathing prob. asthma? Did you go in?
yes, the buttefly poo was definitely a first for me ;)

LOL.

Good morning to all, so much happening while I slept. I have 3 hours to play with my 5D, but wanted to say, a good new friend just lost her nephew, 18 months old, to a heart defect. It was very sad, it was sudden, he was awaiting his next surgery. I asked if she had pictures of the little guy. She didn't know. This is why I think we need to take our hobbies more seriously sometimes. We never know when those precious few photographs will become even more meaningful.

Have a great day, everyone! Enjoy your health, enjoy your work, enjoy life. It's all a gift.

Morning Suzy...hope you had fun with your 5D (though, I cannot even imagine you not having fun with it...link your first shots post here so we can see)

You are so right about the photos....my youngest son died when he was 2 1/2 months old, I have 12 photos...that's all I have, and they ARE very precious to me.

Claire, I'm missing something...I thought your name was Claire, so I don't know where Nouna has come in...

As long as you find a loaded one, and preferrably the hemi version. The more "base" models are extremely boring and rough to steer.
