My hair appointment went horrible. For the last few months my hairdresser has been doing my hair her way and not mine. She cut it too short, made it too blonde and we argued the whole time (somehow I thought I had an opinion here)...then I gave her $120.

She's been my stylest for 2 yrs. but I think it's time for a new hairdresser....

I go the self-chop route, myself. I am just as unhappy with it as if I paid someone else to do it for me;)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

So Liza, fancy a trip to Idaho?

Oh, I wish I could, but finances and obligations here would prevent me from doing so. It's rough being an impoverished single parent.

oh good heavens...I was watching a ghost thing on tv...(some Ireland castle) and I click on for a minute and find this thread has degenerated so far that someone is actually asking about my hair appointment

MDJAK will be happy because this could be the end!

I watched the same program. "Ghost Hunters."

I can't believe how expensive your stylist is! Ye Gods! I **** about paying 50 bucks for cut, color, and eyebrow waxing. And my stylist can be a real PITA too. She never fixes my hair the way I like it. But she's soooo good with color.

HEY!!!!! I'm trying to keep the thread from dying!

Since when would a GUY ask about such things? I had to find a semi-plausible excuse.. my other watchword is "plausible deniability"! :D

I try to avoid even getting my own hair cut unless I absolutely have to......

I don't want it to die either.

Oh, I'm sorry you wouldn't be able to make it to a girls getaway. But I totally understand...when our kids were at home, I swear we spent triple what we do nowdays. But it sounds really fun. I already told my husband that I was going if we ever set one up! I think he was feeling rather left out too...he loves to "go" wherever...and his days off are Thurs. - Sun too! (we could put make up on him)

Mine is inexpensive for around here too! She does my eyebrows as well...but my hair looks horrible!!! Oh, I hate it...mine used to cut mine perfectly but now she just thinks (I suppose after 2 yrs) that she can do what she wants. ....I should try Maureen's method. It looks good on her!

It WAS ghost hunters...that is such a funny program at times. But I liked this one from Ireland. My husband's family is Scottish and when his father was alive they took so many trips to Scottish castles...I kind of got interested in them after that...and naturally, ghosts always come with the castles :)

I absolutely KNEW there was something that told me to run for cover the moment the girls got together........

Next we know, the cameras are going to get heart shaped stickers, stars, and smileys on them*....

* Not as implausible as it seems - saw a working pro, media badge and all, and his camera was togged out in all of those complete with COPIOUS amounts of duct tape...

If you were close, you could have it. Bleah! I don't like alcohol that tastes like alcohol. Tequila...now that's tasty! I know Sari doesn't like it but it's probably my favorite...

So when do you want to do a weekend with the girls, Lisa, Sari? MAybe we could entice Suzie to come and get away from all her boys for a couple of days. Liza, are you sure you couldn't swing just a weekend?

Well, my son has 15 days of leave in Dec. (not sure of the exact dates yet) so I want to be here for that (haven't seen him in a year)....do we want to do something in the Spring or early next year? (I'd probably feel a little better driving over the mountains alone in the spring...if we're going to meet in Idaho.) Sari when are you going to Africa?

It would be cool if Suzy could fly over too! Wonder if she would be able to...this sounds like fun...and I love the mountains and believe it or not, have never been to Idaho...

Anyway, if not earlier, I defintely want to come down to Yosemite next year (is the spring a good time to come?)

(but Dan has already said he wants to do that as well so that can't be a "girls only" thing) so if not before maybe we can meet then!

If it was $120 for only the haircut, then that's a hell of an expensive hairdresser. If it was for cut, colour and blow dry, it's about what I pay when having my hair highlighted. It sucks it's cheaper for men to get haircuts though! I paid app. $60 for my last haircut.

It was. She weaves it (3 colors) cuts it, dries and styles it...and does my eyebrows  Normally all that costs about $200 around here.
