You remind me of my users at work whose infrastructure we care for and feed. We also do counselling ("I deleted my file and I can't get it back WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" "Oh, sucks to be you, go have a beer") out of sheer necessity.

We also have a saying....

There are only two kinds of computer problems in the world....

Real and imagined....

95% of what we deal with is imagined.......

Sounds like the nuthouse? Yeah, it is.... :D

I will be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about my computer.. barely understood what I was buying when I bought it... and with the exception of internet and photo software I still know nothing bout it.. But, I am very good at sounding pitiful to get the smarter folks to fix things up again for me...

I guess that is one of the fringe benefits of being a girl....

As a guy I get told "Shut up and quit whining", regardless of the nature of the problem.... *sigh*

So now I do that to others (that I don't like) too... but it also means solving my own problems....

yes. yes it is.. occasionally i'll get an eye roll but mostly it's just one of those halfway hugs and a 'don't worry it will be fine'... I suppose this should offend me.. it doesn't soo much.. :o

So when do you want to do a weekend with the girls, Lisa, Sari? MAybe we could entice Suzie to come and get away from all her boys for a couple of days. Liza, are you sure you couldn't swing just a weekend?

If only I could Maureen, but I don't have the money or the time. :(

I wanted to go by the photo store and feel out the 100mm macro and the 60mm macro.

I have the 100mm Canon macro and wouldn't trade it for anything. It's sharp, has USM and internal focuing, and the image quality is out of this world.

I think you told me that......One thing I couldn't do is Psych nursing. I never trusted the psych pts. Just not sure how much was real and how much extra wacky they piled on top of that:confused:

I was a service coordinator and advocate for psych patients and patients with developmental disabilities for years. Loved it so much I decided to teach the kids and ended up getting my teaching cert.

I never took the first computer class and have learned it all the hard way. But I revel in my geekiness! I troubleshoot a lot of the minor computer problems at work that are really 98% user error.

It's not just sharp, it's wildly sharp. It's the sharpest lens I own.

Just to let you all know, I'm going to be in UT the first or second week in February 2007 to shoot my nephew's wedding. If you want to get together there in the snow, just PM and I will respond. I'd love to see you again, Sari, and if Metal Tom or Dave are around, that would be really great. I think this time the wedding is in Bountiful.

Liza, heard there were storms your way today. We had a tornado warning that was taken very seriously. I considered running home to get my camera gear to document the crazy wind and rain, but my 20D isn't weather sealed. :( I think I would have ruined it.

Kata rain cover, Suzy. The streets were just plain flooded around here today, and the river was up 12-15 ft. or so. (or is, I should say) It's been pouring all day and into this evening, and I can't see a single half hour TV show without "state of emergency" warnings coming up. The whole area, in like 12 surrounding counties, have the same problem.

Keep posting weather reports like that and talking about fresh cinnamon rolls and you're going to find yourself with a full house. . .

All are welcome.

We really do a nice life out here. As long as we can afford the air conditioning in the summer, we'll be happy.
