If I ever end up in CA, you better be around so I can visit with you. I may just decide to take my son to San Jose to see his old friends there and he wanted to drive up and down the coast. Hope to meet some people from here. That would probably be next fall.

I'd love to see you. If not down here, possibly in San Jose. We're up there a couple times a month, usually on weekends. We're only a couple hours outside Los Angeles, so we could possibly meet over there somewhere. Depending on when in the fall you come, it might still be too warm here for casual sightseeing. September is still Hot, October is iffy, and November, it's getting quite nice.

More to a good man than looks, I think. :)

Sari, how was your Thanksgiving dinner? Get enough turkey?

thanksgiving dinner is this afternoon when everybody gets out of church.. I'm currently sitting in my old bedroom listening to all the noises that go with church preperations.. even my marijuana smoking cousin has put on his pretty blue sweater, my uncle is showered in his fresh white shirt.. and my aunt has burned her forehead with the curling iron...

I however am in my pj's with plans to watch a movie and instructions to put the turkey in the oven at 1:30...Now, in a few minutes like always my uncle is going to come in and call me a heathen and tell me to put on a skirt and get my butt to church.. I will as usual, stick my tongue out at him burrow down next to the television set with some toast and be quite content with three hours of quiet house...
There is Deb, my aunts friend of about four decades. and to make life interesting icky Helen has to come to dinner... But, lesbian Deb will also be here which for me, means that this particular day will be much more entertaining than previous ones.. now, I've been reminded that i'm too old to watch phobias and find them entertaining and normally I wouldn't. But, for Helen I make exceptions... How is your day?... :D :D

Okay, I am awake and productive again. I am waiting for my little man to get here and play the day away with me......:):)
I bought him some new toys (grandma's do not care that Christmas is a month away...there are more toys when that gets here) and we are going to have a great day playing with them.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Sari, have a better attitude. Those people are your family, no matter how weird they all are. And you know church is what they do, and they love you. You don't have to fall into old patterns, you know. I went home and I am the youngest of 8, so you can imagine. Everyone treats me like an adult except my oldest sister. But I don't take it personally anymore. She treats everyone like we're not as smart as she is. It took me 40 years to figure it out, of course. ;)

I'm off myself to church. And I am all dressed up. Have people coming for prime rib dinner at 6. Should be yummy. Enjoy, take out your camera and smile. I think it's more fun watching everyone else be themselves. :)

Morning, Maureen. Have to leave you with this bunch. :)

Maybe they should all stay home in PJ's with Sari instead. People have a right to be themselves and do what they feel is right, not just follow along 'because they should'. That leads to resentment and frustration. People are who they are and should be respected for what they choose to do.

I don't have a bad attitude.. may have sounded that way. I just don't go.. My aunt says that they don't have any room to complain because i'm better behaved than half of the young people that do go to church... ;) .. and I know it's not fair to watch Helen be uncomfortable.. my sense of humor sneaking up on me.. You should have seen the dinner that my aunt told me to distract her so she could finish cooking so I brought out my computer to show her the photos of drag queens i'd taken the weekend before... Seriously bad behavior on my part.. But, a childhood full of hurt feelings are behind it.. One day i'll be nicer, but, I am a lot nicer than a couple of my cousins, Dell won't go anywhere near her or let her daughter talk to her because she told Dell that it's good she got pregnant out of wedlock at a young age so she would have a lot of time to earn her way back into God's good graces..

I hope your dinner worked out, Sari. I know I am getting older and those that I considered my elders are now in their 80's and will not be around much longer. I treasure the time I have with them now. And it's rather sobering to think to my nieces and nephews, I'm that older aunt who is weird. :)
