At this rate, I think this thread will be shut down tonight...if not early tomorrow.

That would be a shame.:cry::cry:

Sounds a lot like me....
Wife is going to finish school and small town living here I come.... need High speed Internet though...

Definitely need the high speed. That, and a grocery store/discount store reasonably close. The small town I grew up in in northern WI was about an hour from everything. There was a grocery store, lots of churches, bars, and gas stations. But, to buy socks or underwear you had to drive over an hour. And, to get to a mall it was over 2 hours.

sounds like fun. I think earlier you said you liked your job so maybe it's not so fun. is there any work you could do at home while you're recuperating? (*spelling*)

Yeah, it sucked. Now I live 7 miles from all of that stuff and about an hour from Madison and half an hour from Dubuque, IA. It's the perfect spot for a small town. I tended bar here for a few years before I got married (how cliche but I met my hubby at the bar) so I know half of the town. Now, I just wish I lived a little farther away from my monster-in-law. 2 blocks is better than living 2 housed down like by bro-in-law but it's way to close for comfort.

The last person I know who did that ended up getting pregnant.

Good luck with the house search. You could always rent a little apartment in the meantime.

Not in the middle of nowhere ville Canada....

But have considered renting, but that looks worse then buying. Of course when renting can lower the standards a tad.
