Just got a bunch of filters and b 300 lens today.

I bought a uv filter, hoya close up set (4/2/1) , a polorizer and a uv filter.

A couple of questions:
1) can/should the uv filter and polarizing filter be left on all the time? will they have any detrimental effect on picturs with the b300, macros set or ir filter?

2) when playing with the close up filters today, my g1 was continually zooming in and out. It what have a the subject in focus but then change. What the best way to get it in focus with the close up lens on the macro setting?

THanks

You can leave the UV on all the time no problem. The polarizer should only be used in situations when you need it.

In general use one filter at a time, layering filters can decrease the lens' sharpness, probably not much of an issue on the G1, but that is the theory.

You'll need to go to manual focus when you use the close up lenses. The focus point will be very close even with just the +1 diopter. If you can't get it to focus with the tele converter attached, you probably will have to use the native G1 lens with the diopters.
